Okay so I thought we were going to have a problem with the Triops. It had been 2 days and the package said they would hatch in 12-24 hours. I thought I was going to have to explain what "death" was to my almost three year old until just a minute ago! I went over to the Triop bowl to do one last check before I surrendered to the fact that there would be no "fishies" and what do I find, two TINY little moving things. Now, there may be more but these things are so tiny I would have no idea if they had more friends there with them! So, now we wait. It says not to feed your new Triop pets in the first 24 hours of life so today we get to just watch them. Sorry I'm not adding pictures because it honestly would just look like dirty water with a tea bag (this is the water conditioner but to me looks like a giant tea bag in the bowl) But if these little guys get to be 2 inches like the bag states I will be sure to upload pics before I make Jackson flush them! Ick!!! There is only so much I can tolerate and two inch long prehistoric sting ray looking things on my kitchen table is not one of them!!
So today is not the day I have to try and explain heaven and earth to my son telling him the Triops went to heaven - well, at least two of them are still on earth with us! Everyone breathe a sigh of relief with me - whew!
